Safeguarding & Intimacy
Safeguarding / DBS / Chaperones
- If a performer is under 16 or 16 and has not completed school Year 11, check with the Safeguarding Officer.
- Know who has DBS within the company. A young person must never be alone with an adult (unless their parent/guardian).
- Report any safeguarding concerns to the Safeguarding Officer (Kath Frazer). During performance week, children must have separate dressing rooms from adults and be separated by gender. Chaperones are required for performances for Year 11 or younger. Discuss performance licensing with the Safeguarding Officer.
Intimacy
- Handle intimacy with care so actors are fully comfortable and never pressured.
- Consult the Intimacy Co-ordinator (Sarah McLane), and ensure actors know they can consult her.
- Flag intimacy requirements to actors before they are cast.
